The City of Clare provides water, sewer, garbage pick-up, yard waste pick-up, and curbside recycling to its residents. To start these services, please visit the City Clerk's Office in Clare City Hall, 202 West Fifth Street. To turn on the water and sewer utilities during normal DPW service hours (8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday), there is a $25 fee, and after hours service is $50. If you are a new renter, there will be a $150 deposit, which is refundable after 12 consecutive, on-time monthly payments. This deposit is waived only if the account is placed in your landlord's name.
